Inspections Used to determine compliance with current safety regulations (OSHA) or the current safety standards (ANSI). If individual machines need to meet the control reliability and brake monitoring requirements, the inspections to determine adherence are required to be conducted on a regular and periodic basis. Documentation can be provided after the inspection to provide suggestions/solutions on an individual machine basis.
Stop-Time Measurement Readings Used to determine the stopping ability of individual machines. The measured stop-time readings (provided in milliseconds (ms)) can then be inserted in either an OSHA or an ANSI formula for calibrating the minimum safety distance. The calibrated distance is required for placement (installation) of the machine’s operating controls or placement (installation) of the machine’s safeguarding device(s). The minimum safety distance is measured from the nearest point of operation hazard to the operating controls or to the safeguarding device(s) being used.
